Music Magazine Genres

I have put together a small diagram of different genres which I could possible choose and use for the music magazine. The genres which I am going to use for the magazine would be either Dance and Electronica or Pop and Chart music, or maybe even both. As the result, due to the chosen genres, it would play an impact on: articles ( especially style and writting and language being used) that would be written by the editor due to the specific interest of the target audience. Furthermore, the colour and the fonts that being used would most likely be colourful ( orange, red, yellow and so on..)which would make them stand out in comparison with other magazines on the shelf. The adverts that are included in the magazine would also be either promoting some DJ equipment, for the dance or electronica magazines or informing the audience of the future festivals or concerts of the certain artist in the pop chart music magazine. Also, the artists of the cover magazines would be very stereotypical, especially the outlook of them.

These are the magazines which I would most likely to study and analysis for the next task, as the match with similar target audience which I would be aiming at. I would be looking at cover pages and the contents pages in order to understand why the slaes revenues are high and what gives the magazines a competitive advantage.

·         XXL  ( RNB and Rap music)
