Meaning behind the title

Behind the music magazine title, there always should be a meaning. I have been interested recently to find out about couple of magazine and on why the plublishment companies called the magazine as what they did.

Why is Q music magazine called Q?
Originally it was to be called Cue (as in the sense of cueing a record, ready to play), but the name was changed so that it wouldn't be mistaken for a snooker magazine. Also, they thought a single letter would stand out more in shops.

Why MIXMAg is called as it is?

To the certaint extend it could be argued that, MIXMAG stands for Mixing Magazine. This lareads give the audience of which genre the magazine would- House, Electro and other sub-genres in this area.

Meanings behind my music magazine title

Beofre choosing the title of the magazine you should certainly read this post, as it would give you greater  understanding on which name to choose.

BPM stands for beats per minute and refers to the number of beats that occur in a minute of time for a given piece of music. BPM is a measurement of tempo. The importance of BPMs is demonstrated when beat matching, which is a style of mixing. This style is based on the concept of having 2 different songs with two different BPMs that are not perfectly matched with one another. The goal is to get the two songs to match by either increasing or decreasing the speed of one or both songs, until their BPMs level out and match one another.

Ampex- is an American electronics company founded in 1944 by Alexander M. Poniatoff. The name AMPEX is an acronym, created by its founder, which stands for Alexander MPoniatoff Excellence. At one time public, Ampex is currently a privately held company. This is where originally electro and house music originates, and its important to know the history of the genre.

Futurist   - The terms most commonly refer to authors, consultants, organizational leaders and others who engage in interdisciplinary and systems thinking to advise private and public organizations on such matters as diverse global trends, plausible scenarios, emerging market opportunities and risk management. This term could  also be used in the music industry. The production comopany who signs a future talent could be descrived as the futurists, as they believe that the artists would bring success and reputation. In this case, if the magazine would be called futurists then it would vastly concentrating on future artists that would be popular in the nexat decade or so.

Rhythmmay be generally defined as a "movement marked by the regulated succession of strong and weak elements, or of opposite or different conditions."This general meaning of regular recurrence or pattern intime may be applied to a wide variety of cyclical natural phenomena having a periodicity or frequency of anything from microseconds to millions of years.

  1. Some excellent work on your blog Stan, well done. What I'd like to see now is your textual analysis, especially as you didn't do masses of this for your student magazine. You will restrict your grade without it.

I've voted in your poll, I really like BPM
